Whatever you’re doing at the time, you have to smash that thing out of the park and give it 1000000%. FULL STOP. That is the theme of today’s post because a lot of people need to hear this.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO IN LIFE, MASH THE GAS!
Life isn’t about half steps and maybes. People who get things done don’t half do it. Think about all of the greats you know in life (famous and non-famous). They don’t do things casually and just be great, 99% of the time, they’re some type of maniac about everything they do. Doctors aren’t “kinda doctors”. They don’t spend half of their life before the age of 30 in a classroom to halfway be a doctor. They’re going for the full meal and the dessert.
HOW YOU DO ONE THING IS HOW YOU DO EVERYTHING.
I don’t make the rules, I just see how they affect me if I don’t follow them. Maybe my advice can help you. How you do one thing is how you do everything. If you lack discipline when it comes to going to the gym or eating the right foods to fuel your body, you will probably struggle with the discipline to do other things like saving money or keeping your house clean. If you lack discipline in one place, those bad habits will bleed out across your actions and intentions across the board. There is no escaping this.
Now apply that to other things in life. Put the same energy into cutting grass on the side for money as you would that $150k salaried job you want so bad. If you half ass your job at the Amazon warehouse, you will not magically become a star employee once more responsibility is on your plate. If your mindset is “well I don’t get paid enough..” this message isn’t for you. You won’t get it. Usain Bolt didn’t just magically run a 9.58 100m dash out the womb. He worked for it. In the smaller races, he took it as seriously as the Olympics. When he was just running for his school against his classmates, he took it seriously. When he got to the Olympics he made it look like it was nothing. BECAUSE HE TREATS EVERY RACE LIKE IT THE OLYMPICS AND HIS RECORD IS ON THE LINE. You think Kobe took it easy against teammates in high school? Please. He played like it was the NBA Finals on the line. Even in small pickup games, he played like the season was on the line.
Now think about your life. Do you feel as if you give everything your 1000000%? (You can lie to me but you can’t lie to yourself).
If you’re going to do something: Max it out. Squeeze all of the juice out of it so you can truly see if you want to keep doing that or do something else. MAXIMIZE all possibilities in the moment. If you half ass it, you will never truly get all of the juice out of the lemon before you move on. Situations that you may look down on, can probably teach you something or introduce you to someone crucial.
So squeeze the whole lemon, GET THE JUICE!
