In The 2nd Quarter
It’s scary outside right now, but it doesn’t have to be for you.
Q1 flew by…like FLEW BY so fast, summer is tomorrow. As we all grapple with the economy and the effects of it, think back to a few of my last few posts:

They all have a recurring theme: THEY ARE ALL MEANT TO PREPARE YOU FOR WHAT IS GOING ON OUTSIDE (AN INSIDE IF YOU COUNT YOUR HOUSEHOLD). Things are getting tight, people are losing their STABLE jobs, and more and more people are becoming unsure of their financial future. Being a Stacker is about preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. THIS IS THE TIME YOU CONTINUE IMPLEMENTING EVERYTHING TO THE MAX. Time is flying, don’t let it get past you. Don’t “wake up” in Q4 with no progress made.
Now isn’t the time to be scared, it’s time to hop outside… always be on something new or doing something. Think forward motion ALWAYS. You see that it’s a recession outside. This just didn’t happen overnight. It’s been brewing for years. If you didn’t see it, now is the time to study 2007-2011. Look around outside and take note of what is going on.
Think:
How can I up my skills to always be in demand?
“What can I offer?” BEFORE “What can they offer me?”
Is the work I do now going to be paying the bills in 10 years? How about 20?
How will my job be affected by AI? (Not a matter of “if”, it is a matter of “when”....not everyone will lose their job, but everyone’s jobs will be changed by it in some way… think how you will be paid, the amount of work you get, the type of work you get, how they will deliver information, how you will be able to keep up with the workload, how they will ease the workloads for some within your industry.. ALL OF THIS MATTERS)
You can’t hide inside (literally and figuratively) and hope that it won’t hit you like everyone else. It will. It is up to you to be prepared for the future that is barreling down the road at you at an alarming speed. Will you allow the ‘AI + ever changing landscape’ train to smack you or will you have what it takes to take advantage and move to the side or even hop on the train as it continues down the track?
And it’s not just AI. It’s society in general. Things are changing. People are evolving. And things are moving at an alarmingly fast rate. A lot of people will be left behind if they don’t get up to speed and quickly. The thing is, by being on this email list YOU ARE ALREADY AHEAD OF THE PACK. Your hunger for knowledge is what got you here.
Keep stacking. Do whatever it takes to save that 6 month emergency fund + start building beyond that. THAT IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO FINANCIALLY. Frivolous spending is what sinks a lot of people. Avoid it.
Do what it takes to upskill. Focus on what’s going to make you money and write a roadmap to get you there. Go back to school if you have to. The future will be in the hands of the highly skilled.
Repeat 1 and 2 until the tension eases to be honest.
This is the 2nd quarter push. This is when you decide if you want to make your mark BEFORE the half or have to play from behind for the rest of the game (year). Your choice. Make the right decisions.
